Dear Neighbors,
There is a Planning and Zoning Meeting at 7pm at City Hall tomorrow.

There are 2 projects that are scheduled to be discussed:
1. A Towing Yard on 10 acres on S. Canyonwood next to Jamie's Daycare. [This is not on the agenda. We regret any inconvenience.—ed.]
2. A Best Western at 3400 E. 290 W. Google Maps puts this on the west side of N. Canyonwood Dr. at the commercial area that was set aside as part of the Headwaters deal.

Both of these projects can severely affect traffic and the use of Canyonwood Drive on both sides of the Highway. More than that, a towing yard can have environmental as well as compatibility issues with this area of the community.

Anybody wanting to understand more about how this impacts the entrance to Sunset Canyon West, please attend the Planning and Zoning meeting. Could somebody update the website with what is happening with the lot sold to Edward Taddia who felt compelled to remove most of the trees as well as our sign?

Dear Realtors,
Are any of you going to take a stand and get involved with what is affecting the communities that you have so proudly sold us on over the past 5-10 years?

Thank you,
[A resident]

Residents of Sunset Canyon, make your voice heard!

posted 03-08-08
[This was a post that appeared this afternoon on our Google Group. I definitely thought it worth re-posting here. --ed.]

This discussion thread [on the Sunset Canyon Google Group] will allow residents to communicate their thoughts and concerns regarding the impending commercial development project at the corner of 290 and North Canyonwood.

Short History - The landowner of lot 1032 has already cleared the land in preparation for the construction of an auto repair business with 70% impervious land coverage allowance. Obviously those living adjacent to this lot are most impacted, but all residents should be concerned about the potential for property value reductions to the non- desirable aspect of this business.

If you are intersted in supporting our cause to redirect this project, please send us your email address or phone number and we will keep you advised. We have a short window of opportunity to affect the outcome, so don't wait to get involved. Thank you!

We have a Google Group!
