April 1
Canyonwood Development Meeting!

via email from Cynthia Bryant

We are going to have a community meeting on April 1, 2008 starting at 7:00 pm at my business, Unlimited PowerSports, located at 12024 Highway 290, Austin TX 78737. There will be babysitting and food at the meeting to make it easier for people to make the decision to attend. Directions from Sunset Canyon:

Go south on Highway 290 towards Austin. We are located in between Ledgestone and Oak Run subdivisions just before Nutty Brown Road on the left hand side. When Ledgestone subdivision is in sight, get into the left hand lane. Get into the left hand turn lane as soon as it opens up so that you can turn left into our driveway. There is a red trailer with a jet ski, ATV and a bright yellow sign on it (yard art).

Saturday, April 5
SCLA Annual Garage Sale

The Sunset Canyon Land Owners Association (SCLA) will sponsor an up coming garage sale for members, non-members and residents of our area. The event is being coordinated by one of our members, Edith Austin.

The date is Saturday, April 5th, from 8 AM till 2 PM. The event will be in the AMM Collision Center parking lot on the south side of Highway 290. This event can be attended for free by SCLA members and the cost for non-members is $10.00, paid in advance. SCLA will advertise the event in the newspaper and will place garage sale signs on Highway 290 both east and west of the event.

All profits are yours!

This has been a very successful event for the past several years. Everyone has had a great time and has made a little extra spending money. Plus you get to do Spring cleaning of your garage and storage sheds to make room for stuff you buy at the next garage sale! Both members and non-members who want to attend the event as a seller have to reserve a space. For any information and to reserve a space call Edith Austin at 858-0988. Spaces will be on a first come basis.

April 18-20
Donít forget Founderís Day!

The local Founderís Day Festival will be held in downtown Dripping Springs on April 18-20. The Grand Parade will be held on Friday, April 18 at 6:30pm on Mercer Street. There will be over 120 cooking teams participating in the BBQ cook-off this year - so go with an appetite! There will be arts, crafts, dances, contests, food and drink vendors, and the Mighty Thomas Carnival.

This event is a great time, and if you are new to the area, you might find that youíll need to go all three days to experience everything the Festival has to offer! For more information on this event, go to www.foundersdayfestival.com.

If you have an event you'd like listed here. Let me know. I'll be happy to include your garage sale or what-have-you.

Please check back regularly! I'll be adding fun things to do as I make 'em up (just kidding). No really.
